If you'd like to get in contact with some committee members directly,
you can! Email them at socialmedia@phxprb.com, promotions@phxprb.com,
bowling@phxprb.com. if you're a local business that would like to put
out some advertisements for our event, let us know what we can do for
you as well, in turn for your support.
Tentatively, we have one venue reserved already (no, I won't tell you which one yet, so don't ask!)
and now I can work on a second one that is close proximity from the
first one. If all goes well, there will be plenty of parking, and both
places should be all ages (See? I listened!). I am also working
on shuttle service between the two places for FREE to every attendee,
so you don't have to miss out on missing bands at other locations. Wow,
we sure are swell people.
We're also working on
some RADTASTIC sponsors this year. Many thanks to our already-involved
sponsors, AZKaos.com, AMF Bowling Centers, Arizona Derby Dames, and of
course, PABST BLUE RIBBON! But we're not stopping there, oh no! As they
become confirmed, we'll let you know who they are, and what you can do
to support their businesses as well.
Man! Lots to do, and many details to get figured out, but my excitement level for 2014 is tenfold of what last year's even was.

New website!
It's so totally true, www.phxprb.com - This will be the main source of anything and everything related to
Phoenix's SECOND Annual Ska/Punk Bowling Music Fest, taking place in
October 2014! You guys made it happen, so it is making a bigger, better,
badder return.
If you are interested in helping make the 2014 event even better, click the "Yes I am" link at the top right of www.phxprb.com, and register for our online meeting January 25th at 4pm. You'll get a better sense of what you might be able to help with by attending this meeting.
I'm so stoked to have this ONE source for everything this year, it will definitely help make my job a little easier. Please feel free to make suggestions on how this website could be better, I will definitely read over each submission and implement as seems fitting. Send suggestions to feedback@phxprb.com, include your name so I can give you credit for the idea! Also, all of the news posted here will be archived in the "BLOG" section after 24 hours, so you can always find whatever you need from past posts. See how smart I is?
Updating the home page today, when you get a second check it out!

The time has come...
..for me to part ways with my beloved 2001 Yamaha Zuma II 50cc scooter/moped. Its just sitting, not being used, and around this time of year, some extra $$ to pay some things off would be super fantastic.
I just got it restarted and cleaned up last week. Everything works (turn signals, headlights, brake lights, etc) on this fine machine. It has a few small cosmetic "oopsies" from the previous owner, but nothing that affects how it runs/performs. It has a brand new back tire (the first one lasted more than 3,500 miles). Its gets over 70MPG (which takes about $3 to fill up) and does use a performance oil you have to put in a separate tank($16/year). I babied this thing, and originally purchased it from the original owner in 2010 with 600 miles on it. It now has 3600 miles. It also has a bitchin' basket that holds a 30 pack easily. I have the title here at my home, and it's ready to go. All it needs is you.
Its about $60 a year for insurance, and $15/yr to register. It passed emissions last year perfectly; actually, well below the limit.
These are selling for anywhere between $1800 and $2400 right now. I'm willing to part with mine, given its age, for $1400 cash. It always starts, and I've never had any issue with it, other than a new back tire, and maybe a spark plug needed cleaning, but it would need those anyway with regular use.
I'm pretty firm on the price, but I may be willing to sway slightly. I'll gladly take a payment of $1500 for it, but sorry, no financing. Cash deal in full.
You may have questions about it, and that's ok. Since I work banker's hours, email is best contact - contact@phxprb.com - See pics below.
Thanks for looking!

Just a general update
Hey Ska/Punkers!
Thanks for staying tuned in. I know with the holidays coming up, your focus is on anything but this event, but nonetheless, at least I am giving you something to read that isn't full of typos, 'LOL's and smiley faces. So there's that.
I'm still working on the new webpage (www.phxprb.com) currently. It should be pretty sweet. I'm a computer guy, but not a web designer. Just not my thing. I know what looks appealing to me, hopefully, it looks cool to you too. It will have the following items easily accessible:
Not taking any submissions for bands or anything yet, but thank you to those that have expressed interest! I very sincerely appreciate your enthusiasm, and am excited for what this upcoming year will bring us. Its gonna be awesome!
Stay close, but don't stalk me.

- A shopping cart! Yes! All your tickets/passes/merch will go through ONE website for convenience and to cut down on confusion.
- Band/venue listings - Find the band(s) you want to see and where/when they are playing.
- News page - get all the updated info on the news page
- Blog links - All the news will be archived to the blog after 24 hours, so you can always stay up to date, and research old news if you need it later.
- All the bowling information you would ever need. (*cough, ahem*, more teams next year, thanks!)
- Links to twitter/facebook/youtube feeds, for easy sharing of updates, banter, randomness, and bullshits.
- Contact info - I have a bunch of email addresses set up for specific parts of the event, for ease of identifying what questions you might have. They'll get directed to the person running that part of the event.

Ch-ch-ch-changes....Good ones though!
Hello all! Hope you have all recovered sufficiently from our first Ska/Punk Bowling weekend! Took me 4 days to finally feel normal again, and I'm not even kidding. It was ALL worth it though.
News to give you:
- Venues - I'm currently working with a few venues to establish where the 2014 Phx Ska Punk Bowling event will be held. A new plan on paper will solidify all the loose ends from 2013.
- New website! Its not launched yet, but www.phxprb.com and www.phxspb.com should be live in the next couple months. Obviously, I'll make the announcement when this is up and running. It will be your ONE-STOP shop for all things involved in this event. passes, tickets, news, band lists, this blog, and merchandise will ALL be available through this site. Pretty rad, huh?
- New Sponsors - I spent hours yesterday drawing up a 7 page proposal to some major players in extreme sports, a couple major players in the music industry, and some awesome local business as well. The proposal is off to editing/proofreading as we speak. Hoping to generate some BIG buzz over the 2014 event, and get you guys some kickass bands with their donations.
- Speaking of bands.....I have a few in mind that will cater to a large audience of all ages/styles.
- New logo! I have a couple awesome designers racking their brains for a sweet new logo.
- Transportation - If i get the venues I am hoping to get, I should be able to get a big passenger van to cart you to all the places, included in your weekend pass price. More on that after a budget is established and we hear back from sponsors.
- Bowling! - We had 8 teams in 2013, and i'm really hoping to double that in 2014. Knowing what I know now, I think we can make bowling cheaper, and more affordable for everyone. If i were you, i'd start assembling a team, and get practicing, or join a league. The MORE teams we get, the better the CASH prizes can be. So think about it.
- Dates? - Not determined yet, pending venue availability. I'm still pushing to keep it the first weekend of October. 2 nights or 3? I think we'll try TWO nights. Three nights seems to be wear everyone really bad. If you want three nights, speak up at feedback@phxprb.com, and tell your friends to speak up too. I'll do what you guys want, but if only 6 people want 3 nights, I'm not doing it.
- The Queers - got a personal email from Joe Queer last week, who told me the show they played here was hands-down the best show of the tour. Their tour manager said the same thing. Applaud yourselves, Phx.
Umm...i think that's it? Can't think of anything else hugely newsworthy right now. Someone bring me some coffee.
Again, thank you for your continued support of this event. I wouldn't be so motivated to make it better if you guys didn't support it. #biggerbadderbetter in 2014!

Big huge thank you to everyone...
...that helped with this event. No matter if you just simply shared a FB status, or pitched in money to sponsor it - I appreciate everyone that (in no order):
bought a ticket, a pass,
helped pass out flyers,
is in one of the bands,
the venues ( a HUGE thank you to them for taking a chance on this event!!!),
the advertisers (KWSS, Gassman/Cindy, love you guys! and AZKaos.com),
Pabst Blue Ribbon,
KUKQ,
AZ Weekly Magazine,
Wyatt,
Chris McKimmons (for keeping me motivated),
Brian Paulson (Seizure Salad Productions - He put me in contact with TBR/Queers tour manager),
Dieter Bravo,
Victoria Cruz (for sharing every status I put out there),
AMF Tempe Village Lanes and their whole crew,
Kelly Wilson,
Marc McDowell (for driving me around),
all my venue managers,
Rodney Hu(Yucca Tap Room),
Rob (Tempe Tavern),
NANCY FUCKING STEVENS (you rule, lady! THANK YOU for all your help!) at PubRock,
TAG photography,
Patrick (Portraits in the key of punk rock),
my bands, Common Tongue and No Gimmick, for not killing me,
and finally.....
My wonderful wife Nikki, who put up with me being way overly busy since February of this year.
I'd like to remind you that YOU made this happen. YOU are the fans/people that gave me a reason to do it. Without people walking through the door, buying drinks, moshing, bleeding, headbanging, and just generally having fun - there is no reason to do it - So if i haven't said it enough, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Be proud of yourselves for making this happen.
This event has been an incredible journey, learning experience, growth period, and a lesson in humility. It's taught me a lot about the music scene here, I've made some GREAT new friends here, and heard some bands I'd never heard.
Its time for a few months off from thinking about this. Time to get back to normal, at least, as normal as possible.
If you have an idea about how this event could be better, send it to phxprb@gmail.com. Use the Subject line "Feedback" so I can filter it.
Also, this event is WAY too big for one person to handle, so to do this next year, I need to create a committee/team of people to make it easier to manage. if you're interested in being part of this process and helping plan this event, I'll schedule a meeting in the spring, and let's see what we can accomplish as a group. Think about it, and we'll reconvene in Spring 2014.
Thanks again everyone. This was really fucking amazing.
