I report to you this day that there is GREAT news - my third venue 100% confirmed with me today.
So to clarify, THIS EVENT IS HAPPENING! YES!!!!!
There's a lot to do, and lots of time to do it, but I hate overwhelming myself with "last minute" stuff.
"Well, what can we do to help?" - great question! What I need is more local bands. I think I have about 20 bands, but I need 45 to fill a the slots up (that's what she said), so if you'd be so kind, spread the word that there's still spots to play this event. I have a few spots for out-of-town bands too, so if you know someone that will be on tour in this area during the weekend of October 4/5/6, tell them to get a hold of me, and we'll see if we can get em in a spot. I'll post the email address at the end of this blog.
I can now start working on a promo video, getting laminates made for the 3-day passes, and get tickets/flyers printed. (Again, I am NOT making bands sell tickets: if you choose to, awesome, it would be swell, but there is NONE of that pay-to-play shit or minimum ticket sales.) Also, if you could get a stack of flyers to pass out to promote your band, and hand them out, that would also be swell. This event is for local bands, by local bands, so your participation will impact the event's success.
I'll make an official venue announcement June 1st and I should have both tickets and flyers by that date, but for now, I gots work to do!
