Pabst Blue Ribbon bowling (16 week league)

Hola crew, bands, and peeps. (My lingo is getting better.) There's another 16 week non-sanctioned league, sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon, scheduled to start May 14th 2013, at AMF Tempe Village Lanes (where the October event is happening) in Tempe, at Rural Rd/ US 60. Here's the run down:

  • $10 a week, per 4 person team (this means you'll need 4 people per team, for all you mathematicians out there).
  • The last two weeks of the league (weeks 15 and 16) must be paid by the 5th week of the league. It's basically to ensure you don't skip out on the last two weeks, financially.
  • You get: three games per Tuesday night, includes your shoes. Start bowling at 6:15pm (practice), games start at 6:30pm. (the first night of the league we meet at 5:45pm to discuss how the league works)
  • As a member of the league, you get a 20% discount on food stuffs (not beer. Sorry. Not my rule.)
  • You also get $1.75 games any day of the week, plus two free games emailed to you for being in a league (which you can use anytime within 7 days of receiving them).
  • There may be a prize pot (if elected by the majority of the league) for the top finishing teams.
  • $1.25 PBRs while you're bowling, and cheap pitchers of PBR.
  • Free Pabst Swag! No shit. Not even kidding. There's these blue pins they put in the racks, and if one of the blue pins is the headpin in your lane, and you get a strike? Free shit. T-shirts, trucker hats, sweatbands (for all you hipsters, even though everyone has heard of sweatbands), stickers, magnets, pins, pens, bottle openers, and PBR chap-stick. Not even kidding. It exists.
  • Good times with good people. This will be my 4th season doing PBR bowling in a row, and it's always a good time. Seriously. The staff at AMF are awesome..here's how awesome.....
  • Slayer, Dropkick Murphys, NOFX, Bad Religion, Pennywise, Motorhead, and more on the jukebox (yes, it plays over the ENTIRE bowling alley).
  • I'm the President of the league. Yep. Not a typo. I'm El Presidente. El Hefe. How bad can a bowling league be, if the guy running it wears sleeveless Iron Maiden t shirts and Chucks? Yeah. Not so bad. This ain't Grandpa's league, I'll tell ya that much.
  • This will get you in bowling shape for October. Establish a good average over 16 weeks, and you just increased your chances at going home with over $_____ in the October event.
  • This a great way to start rubbing elbows with other bands that are in the October event, and let's just ask the obvious question; what the fuck else are YOU going to do on Tuesday nights? Nothing.
In any case, this is a great league, with great people, great cold beers, and great hangovers on Wednesday mornings. It's totally worth $10 a week (just ask the guys from SkullDrug!) If you have ANY questions about sign ups, how the league works, etc, please ask, I can likely answer every question you have, and if I can't, I'll get you answer lickety-split.

I really want to encourage any bands that plan on participating in October's event to get in on this one first. It really does help your game, and with more than $____ in prize money to give away, make your chances better. If you're wondering about the numbers, you could pay for this 16 week league, buy into the tourney and still go home with $2 more than 5 times what you invested for both. For those good at math, you'll figure out the top prize.

If you're interested in registering for a team, you have LOTS of time to figure out your team, and I will be making a FB event for it too, so please RSVP there (I'll post the link here as well when i get it made).

I hope as many as possible can commit to a 16-week league because with as many friends we all have, this would be so fun to hang out, bowl and get saucy every fucking Tuesday. Please ask me if you have ANY questions. Thanks!
